Dual Language Immersion Program (DLI)

We are excited to share that we offer the DLI program at our school, Mountain View TK-8!

What's DLI?

A dual language immersion program is an educational approach in which students are taught in two languages, most commonly Spanish and English. The goal is for students to become proficient in both languages, while achieving strong academic outcomes. In DLI programs, students learn core subjects such as math, science, and social studies in both languages. This approach goes beyond teaching a second language and instead immerses students in it, helping them think, speak, read, and write effectively in both languages.

These programs often involve students from different language backgrounds, allowing them to learn from one another while building bilingual and bicultural skills. DLI programs are popular in communities that value multilingualism and cultural understanding, and they support students in developing strong communication skills, problem-solving and cultural awareness.
